“Deep down in the human spirit, there is a reservoir of courage. It is always there, always waiting to be discovered.”

MINDFULNESS FOR ANXIETY GROUP
Anxiety is one of the most commonly reported issues people face. It is given many names: worry, stress, discomfort, overwhelm. It often feels inherent to modern life.
What is it that makes it so prevalent?
If most anxiety is the fear of more anxiety how do we work with this?
How does a mindfulness approach help?
We will be exploring all of this in Mindfulness for Anxiety.
This group will meet at my Encino office every week or every other week depending on demand. I am considering adding a group at my Arts District office if there is sufficient interest. Each group will be seventy five minutes. Specific meeting time and day will be decided based on the best fit for everyone interested in attending. Cost per group is $35.
You can email me at aaron@aaroncrowetherapy or call (818) 216-4146 for more information.
HOW DOES THE GROUP WORK?
We work with anxiety both by learning basic mindfulness techniques and by applying those techniques to our daily lives. We focus on breathing techniques to reduce anxious symptoms, cultivating an open, nonjudgmental awareness, and developing self-compassion, among other topics.
The supportive nature of the group allows people to share about how this is going and to hear how others are working with it
WHAT IS A TYPICAL GROUP LIKE?
We open with a brief meditation with instructions given at every group. This basic meditation technique is the foundation for everything else we work on. Some groups are primarily a conversation around a particular topic. In other groups we visit specific mindfulness exercises in response to the needs of the ongoing group.
HOW LARGE IS THE GROUP?
The group will consist of 4-6 people.
HOW PERSONAL WILL THE GROUP BE?
Members are free to share as much of themselves as they are comfortable with. We are working more with the nature of our experience rather than the details of our experience so many different varieties of life experience can benefit.
WHO ARE YOU?
The group is run by myself, Aaron Crowe, LMFT.
I’ve been a meditation practitioner for nearly twenty years. The majority of my training is through Shambhala, which is a Tibetan based lineage. I have been studying the intersection of Eastern contemplative traditions and Western Psychology for the last seven years.
